microneedling services
One of the biggest questions I get is, “how is microneedling with you different than microneedling with a Medical Aesthetician?” The answer is threefold.
Before starting treatment we do a thorough intake. This allows me to both treat the manifestation (skin condition) as well as the root cause! Each microneedling session will also include a tailored acupuncture treatment. We can also select points to boost energy, regulate nervous system, improve productivity etc.
I use Chinese Herbal Topicals in each treatment. Along with hyaluronic acid, all serums are medical-grade and hand selected to individually meet the needs of each client. You will be given the remaining serum from your treatment to take home and continue using for the 2 days post-treatment.
Many extended medical plans will cover Microneedling done by a Registered Acupuncturist. Be sure to check with your provider for more details.

the before
To prepare your face for mironeedling, we will first use micellar wipes to remove any excess make-up and residue. It is also at this time that we offer a numbing cream should you want it.
-
the during
Individualized TCM herbal serums are applied, and followed by a microneedling device gently rolling over the area, creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate collagen production.
-
the after
It is very common to experience redness post treatment. To reduce redness and alleviate discomfort, we apply a cold aloe vera mask to the face and leave on for 15 minutes.
-
the aftercare
It’s important to remember that microneedling is creating little micro-punctures in the skin. Thus staying out of the sun and only applying the serum you’re sent home with is advised.

“Very good results have been obtained after microneedling of flourishing acne. Acne is triggered by androgens that stimulate increased proliferation of keratinocytes that block the ducts of sebaceous glands. After one or two treatments the hyper proliferation of keratinocytes may be down-regulated. Thus it can only be speculated that MMPs, induced by microneedles, somehow balance or equilibrate cell proliferation.”

Conclusion: Microneedling is an underused treatment option that can serve as a cheap alternative to fractional laser resurfacing in multiple indications. Therapeutic applications of this modality are becoming diverse and are going to increase over the years to come.

Discussion: “The results of this study show that Microneedling is a safe and a promising tool in hair stimulation both for male and female AGA and also is useful to treat hair loss refractory to Minoxidil therapy. We opine that Microneedling procedure should be offered to patients with AGA along with the existing therapeutic modalities for faster hair re-growth and better patient compliance.”

MICRONEEDLING FAQ’s
-
Microneedling is a minimally invasive, safe and natural way to improve the skins production of collagen and elastin. By causing ‘micro-traumas’, the skin responds by producing cell growth in targeted areas, thus helping to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, scarring and by promoting hair growth. It is typical to experience microneedling on the face, neck, head and décolletage.

It is quite common to experience redness a few hours following your microneedling session. It’s important to allow your skin the time it needs to heal, void of direct sunlight for approximately 24 hours. It’s also recommended that you eliminate chemical topicals (including most facial moisturizers, toners etc). You are welcome to return to your normal skin care routine 2 days after.
-
Microneedling can be done a maximum of once every month or four weeks, as this is the time it takes for the skin to properly heal and regenerate from the previous session.
I do however recommend that clients come in 1-3 times in between microneedling sessions for nano-needling (doesn’t create punctures in the skin, but is more like a facial massage with added benefits). -
